Student Advocacy Day is an opportunity for high school students to deliver a personal message directly to congressional lawmakers about the impact disenfranchisement and discrimination has on their families and the communities in which they live. In previous years, the student’s testimonies have been so moving that Congressmen and women representing both sides of the isle have carved out additional time to sit with them, share stories and history and have compelled those lawmakers to make additional legislative commitments to advance democracy in the District.
