TIME AND LOCATION CHANGE FOR DC VOTE RALLY

DATE: Tuesday, September 4
EVENT: DC Budget Freedom Rally. Tell Congress: Hands off of DC's Money
NEW TIME: 2:00 PM
NEW LOCATION: Corner of Stongewall and Brevard Streets, Charlotte (304 Stonewall)

DETAILS: Activists, delegates and elected officials who support DC democracy will rally for passage of The District of Columbia Budget Autonomy Act of 2012. Currently, Congress must approve the District government's budget before the city can spend locally-raised tax dollars. The legislation would allow DC to set its own fiscal year and spend funds on its own schedule. Speakers confirmed to attend include DC Mayor Vincent Gray and Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC).
