Tattooed DC Residents To Show Their Local Pride On Flag Day

June 13, 2011

On Tuesday June 14, Flag Day, DC residents will gather in Dupont Circle to put a local twist on the holiday by showing off (or checking out) tattoos of the DC flag in a show of hometown pride. Organizers also hope the event will help to raise awareness of the District's lack of federal voting representation and full Home Rule.

The celebratory event will also include live painting of large "voting arms" courtesy of Albus Cavus artist collective, as well as speakers and music.

Among speakers will be residents who have recently been inked in anticipation of the rally, including activist Bryan Weaver and DC Shadow Representative Mike Panetta - watch the video here.
