Quote:
"On the anniversary of Dr. King's 'I Have a Dream' speech, DC Vote wants these visitors to Washington to understand that the dream has yet to be achieved in DC. The 600,000 residents of Washington, DC are treated like second-class citizens, paying the highest per-capita taxes in the nation while still subjected to the taxation without representation that inspired our Founding Fathers. We have been engaging in an on-going 'tea party' here since the District was established. Tea Party members advocate 'founding principles' and strong local government, so we hope they will support the District of Columbia's struggle for full democracy and local autonomy." -Ilir Zherka, Executive Director of DC Vote
