Utah May Get 4th House Seat

SALT LAKE CITY - Utah Congressman Rob Bishop is working with a Virginia colleague to get Utah a fourth seat in the US House of Representatives.

The plan would give Washington DC residents a voice in the house in exchange for another seat in Utah.

Bishop's Chief of Staff, Scott Parker, says both areas deserve the representation.

"The main effort here is to make sure folks in DC have voting rights but also reward Utah with the seat it should have gotten earlier."

Parker says the DC area is strongly Democratic and Utah's seat would most likely be Republican, so the two would even out in the house.
