Statehood Activists Fight Charges

Source:      Roll Call (DC)
Date:      Tuesday, September 20, 2011

Ilir Zherka (left), executive director of DC Vote, and D.C. shadow Sen. Michael Brown attend a rally Monday in front of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Brown and seven other statehood activists were scheduled to go to trial that day on charges stemming from two protests in April near the Capitol. However, the trial was delayed until Nov. 15 over disagreements about the use of evidence, according to DC Vote.
