In solidarity, advocates, activists and lawmakers continued the District's tireless fight for self-governance at a D.C. voting rights rally Saturday. Hundreds of people assembled in front of the White House lawn. DCist’s Martin Austermuhle attended the rally and witnessed the 12 arrests, including a Maryland resident who is eight months pregnant. City Paper’s Nick DeSantis notes that one of the District’s greatest challenges in the fight for autonomy is how obscure our struggle is outside the city.
