Protest for D.C. Rights, Then Join the 'Protest After Party' at Local Pub

Source:      Washington Examiner (DC)
Date:      Thursday, April 14, 2011
Author:      Freeman Klopott

D.C. Vote's second protest of the week is set to kickoff Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. near Union Station. When it's all over, everyone is invited over to Meridian Pint for the "Protest After Party."

D.C. Vote, which organized the protest on Monday where Mayor Vince Gray and a half-dozen council members were arrested, is shooting for a younger crowd this time around.

"The Distrcit's leaders have taken the lead, and now its young people are following in their footsteps," the website says. "Student activists" will lead the demonstration, D.C. Vote said.

Gray said Thursday that he'll be there. Only time will tell if he, or anyone else, will get arrested. To that end, the beer may help.
