DC Voting Rights Rally In Front Of White House

Supporters of getting the District a vote in Congress will spend the day rallying outside of the White House. Six women started the morning marching in Lafayette Park, marking the 90th anniversary of women receiving the right to vote. But they're also pushing for D.C. to receive a vote in the House of Representatives.
Billie Day, the president of League of Women voters in D.C., sees a similarity between the two struggles.
"The struggle is incomplete. In this country, we work for democracy in other places. But we don't consider that we have full democracy here," Day says.
The female marchers are wearing garb from 1920. Catherine Ray, a lifelong D.C. resident, showed up proudly wearing a long white dress with lace gloves and a parasol.
"My parasol I find in New York, and I made my husband stop and I said I must have that parasol. My lace gloves are from G Street Remnant. Which shows my age because it's called G Street Fabrics now," Ray says.
The presidential election of 1920 was the first where women could vote nationwide.
