Lesson Plan - Warm Up: Pop Quiz Discussion Questions
1. Quiz:
- Quiz may be administered orally to the entire class, or passed out to be taken individually. Explain to students that they will not be graded but used to measure how much they already know about the subject you are about to cover.
- If administered out loud, pose each question to the class. When answers are correct, ask students to explain their reasoning. Supplement this answer with the explanation provided in the answer key. If answers are incorrect, explain why.
- If administered on paper, have students keep their own quizzes and read the answer key (with explanations) out loud.
2. Follow Up Discussion Questions:
- Were there many questions you got right? Got wrong?
- What were you surprised most about?
- Does any of this information seem unfair?
- If you could change the answer to one of the quiz questions, which one would it be and why?
- Do you think most people living in DC know this information? Most people living in California? Wisconsin? Texas?
