  1. What can students do about this issue? Write down class suggestions on the board.

  2. Offer any of the following suggestions not yet mentioned:

    • Tell friends and family outside the District of Columbia about DC voting rights.


    • Visit Act NOW!, at DC Vote's award-winning Web site, www.dcvote.org, to send e-mails to members of Congress.


    • Register to vote.


    • Call or write a letter to your member of Congress.


    • Choose to write a paper or prepare a project on the topic of DC voting rights.


    • Write an editorial or letter-to-the-editor for your community or local paper.


    • Create a flier about the issue to inform the school community and others.


    • Volunteer for DC Vote.
