Students for DC Vote Successes 2005-2008

Constitution Day Flyer Campaign: Grinnell College students created the "Too Cool Not to Have Representation" flyers and collected 250 DC Vote petition signatures.

Opinion Editorials and Articles: See below a comprehensive list of students in the media.

University Student Government Involvement: The American University Student Senate passed a bill in support of congressional voting rights for DC.

Academic Research: Two students used their theses to explore the history of DC voting rights.

Alumni Campaign: A graduate of Yale University waged an impressive campaign to encourage the university's president and local club to express their support for DC voting rights.

Facebook and Myspace: Over 700 students joined the Students for DC Vote Facebook group and over 500 are connected to our Myspace profile.

DC Vote Events: Students played a major role in the DC Voting Rights March of 2007 and attended numerous Senate rallies and DC Vote outreach events.

Tabling: Students for DC Vote organizers have manned information and petition tables on their campuses and at local and national student conferences.

Congressional Lobbying: Students at Yale University and Wesleyan University gathered petition signatures and submitted them to their local representative along with a letter urging her to support the DC Voting Rights Act.
