On October 16, 2011, DC will host the dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial.
This event will have special meaning for Washingtonians, as Dr. King was a dedicated advocate for DC Home Rule. The continuing
inequality in our nation's capital means his work is still unfinished.
With the eyes of the world on the District of Columbia, we must honor the legacy of Dr. King by continuing his fight for full democracy and equality. Below is a list of events
and ways that you can be involved:
- Saturday, October 15 - DC Full Democracy Freedom Rally and March from Freedom Plaza, 14th St. and Pennsylvania Ave NW, to
the Memorial, starting at 9:30 AM.
Sign-up here.
- Sunday, October 16 - DEDICATION EVENTS. Free and open to the public. West Potomac Park - click here for Metro and walking directions.
