Demand Democracy and tell Congress: Don't Tread on DC!
This protest will continue our campaign to keep pressure on our allies and challenge our opponents to free DC's local budget from congressional interference.
The morning after this protest, the House Subcommittee that "oversees" DC will hold an unusual hearing on DC's budget, and has called Mayor Gray and Council Chairman Kwame Brown as witnesses, among others. Subcommittee members say they want to "help" DC with fiscal responsibility, though Congress couldn't even pass a final budget for this year, and the Mayor's proposal is balanced, once again.
We must raise our voice in opposition to this federal interference in local affairs, while the national economy suffers.
RSVP here to attend this important protest.
