Is Childers Running for DC Mayor? Call NOW!

Date:     Tuesday, July 6, 2010

This morning, DC Vote sent over 200 petitions from constituents of Representative Travis Childers (D-MS) to his office on Capitol Hill. They ask Rep. Childers to drop his co-sponsorship of the bill that would rewrite DC's local gun laws, and focus on Mississippi instead.

If Rep. Childers wants to control DC's laws, why doesn't he run for DC's Mayor?

You can help amplify our impact by calling Rep. Childers' office at 202.225.4306 NOW with the following message:

Hello, my name is _______ calling from ______ and I want to ask Rep. Childers why he is trying to re-write DC's laws - does he want to be Mayor of DC?

I encourage him to drop his co-sponsorship of House Bill 5162 and allow DC's elected officials and residents to make their own decisions about the District's gun laws.

Can you pass this message onto Rep. Childers? Thank you for your time.

Thank you for calling! Every call makes the impact of today's action stronger.

After you call, stay tuned for updates! Media stories will be posted on our website.
