DC Vote presents a screening of "Un-Natural State" in the Langston Room at Busboys and Poets on Monday, July 10 at 6:30 PM.
PLEASE NOTE THE TIME CHANGE! We will screen the film promptly at 6:30 PM.
A talented film production team, the Worthy Foes, chose DC voting rights as the topic of an 8-minute documentary submitted for the
International Documentary Challenge. Washingtonians Kirk ‘Mango’ Mangels and Brad Mendelsohn approached DC Vote to assist in creating a documentary that would highlight the absurdity of denying democracy in the nation’s capital. The team was given the genre of ‘nature’ and had five days to complete production on the film.
The finished product is “Un-Natural State,” a short documentary illustrating how DC residents appear to be living freely like other Americans, but are actually caged without American democracy.
Over drinks and light fare, we welcome newcomers and loyal DC Vote supporters to chat about new ways to get involved, learn about what we do, and have a great time.
