U.S. House Set to Repeal DC's Gun Laws!

The House of representatives is set to take up H.R. 3193,PDF file 137 kb., "Te District of Columbia Personal Protection Act" sponsored by Rep. Mark Souder, (R-Indiana, Third District) on Wednesday, September 29, 2004.
We encourage all people who believe in the ideals of American democracy - that each American should have the right to a vote on the laws that affect their personal safety and the protection of their communiity - to Contact Your U.S. Representative and let your representative know that a vote on this shameful attack against the laws and wishes of the residents of the District of Columbia is unacceptable.
For those who would like to attend Wednesday, September 29th's session of the House of Representatives, tickets for seating in the House Gallery can be picked up for no cost at the office of Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton in Room 2136 of the Rayburn House Office Building (at the intersection of Independence Avenue and First Street, SW). Tickets may be limited, so you may call the Congresswoman's office at 202.225.8050 to check on ticket availability and to get a better idea of the time that the bill will make it to the House floor.
