Our sincere thanks go out to the many DC Vote volunteers who joined DC Vote at the Takoma Park Folk Festival — Celebrating 27 great years! DC Vote passed out educational materials about DC Vote and the DC voting rights movement, collected petition signatures, answered questions about DC Vote, and sold DC Vote merchandise. This was a great opportunity to learn more about DC Vote and about the Takoma Park community.
The Takoma Park Folk Festival was held at the Takoma Park Middle School just a few blocks from the Washington, D.C. border. Since its inception in 1978, the Takoma Park Folk Festival has been a community affair, organized by volunteers from the Takoma Park area. This one-day FREE festival showcases the local talent of the Washington, D.C. area and features all kinds of music, dance, crafts, children's entertainment, and food.
