DC Voting Rights March & Rally - Video Media Coverage

More than 5,000 DC voting rights supporters marched with us through the cold tempuratures and gale force winds on April 16, 2007, to Demand The Vote! Congress heard the message loud and clear, and the DC Voting Rights Act passed the House of Representatives just three days after the march to the Capitol.

"Taxation Without Representation" Public Awareness Video Spots

In October 2006 as part of the national public awareness campaign sponsored by the Government of the District of Columbia, DC Vote had four video spots produced and began airing them on television networks across the country. These video spots are designed to educate the American public about taxation without representation in the nation's capital. We used everyday people who are affected by the consequences of being denied a vote in Congress as our spokespeople.

"Un-Natural State" Short Documentary Video

The short documentary video "Un-Natural State" looks at DC's denial of democracy and asks the question of whether or not democracy is a natural part of society. The video won the prize for Best Editing in the 2006 International Documentary Challenge. This video is part of DC Vote's Lesson Plan for Teachers.
